How to get AI to recommend you.

Spark: Jan 2026. Want More Leads? Make Sure AI Can Find You.

82% of Americans use AI tools like ChatGPT and Gemini for housing market research.*

AI is changing how buyers and sellers search for real estate information: 82% of Americans use AI tools like ChatGPT and Gemini for housing market research.* While consumers still consider agents the go-to experts, AI now plays a major role in how clients find you online.

Think of AI as your digital referral partner. Traditional SEO was once the key to getting found, but it’s no longer just about showing up on Google. It’s about being helpful and visible across the web so AI can recommend you. That means your online presence needs to be optimized in a way that’s easy for AI to understand.

Here are three AI-friendly changes you can implement now:

1. Answer real questions in plain language

When you publish blogs, posts, and video content, structure it like a Q&A: Your title or heading is the question, and your content is the answer.

Instead of a post titled: Best neighborhoods in Austin
Try: What are the best neighborhoods in Austin for families?

AI is more likely to surface content that’s written in helpful, conversational language.

2. Keep your NAP consistent.

Not that kind of nap. (Though a little extra sleep never hurts!) AI relies on consistent Name-Address-Phone (NAP) data to establish credibility, so make sure your info matches across profiles like Google, Zillow, LinkedIn, and anywhere else you show up online. Be sure to also include your specialties (like relocation or luxury homes) in your bios to further help AI understand who you serve and when to recommend you.

3. Get specific, hyper-local reviews.

A great review is more than a great rating. It’s location- and value-specific. Reviews that mention the neighborhood and the value you delivered help AI know when to surface you in local searches. Compare these examples:

A bad review for AI would say: Joe is an experienced agent who recently helped us buy our home. I highly recommend him!
A better review would say: Joe helped us buy our first home in Boise's Hyde Park during a competitive market. His strong relationships with other agents helped us negotiate a winning offer and close quickly.

Whether you’re embracing AI or keeping it at arm’s length, one thing is clear: It’s rapidly transforming how buyers and sellers make decisions. Adapting to these changes means meeting them where they are, and that’s increasingly through AI-powered tools.
